IndieFEST Film Awards: Award of Merit special mention goes to „Lafnetscha” by Veronika Riz
The South Tyrolean director Veronika Riz has received with her first feature film "Lafnetscha" (2013) on IndieFEST Film Awards in La Jolla (California) the recognition award for the best film in the category experimental film („Awards of Merit special mention“).
The jury based its decision on the extremely high quality and creativity of the film as well as the outstanding representational skill and expressive power of the actor. The jury was also convinced by the exceptional access to the topic and the high level of the whole production.
Currently in its 7th year, The IndieFEST Film Awards is an avant-garde worldwide competition that strives to give talented directors, producers, actors, creative teams and new media creators from all over the world the positive exposure they deserve. It discovers and honors the achievements of filmmakers who produce high quality shorts and new media.
The IndieFEST promotes award winners through press releases to over 40,000 filmmakers, industry contacts as well as five additional media/distribution outlets.

The film “Lafnetscha” tells the story of a young writer and a young student which met by chance in an abandoned house, where the past comes alive again.
In Addition, the film “Lafnetscha” (80 min.) attracted a lot of interest at the film competition “Maverick Movie Awards” in Los Angeles and was nominated in the categories „best picture“, „best director“, „best sound design/editing“, „best performance“, „best production design“, „best costume design“.
